JORDAN REITERATES REJECTION TO ANY CUT OF UNRWA SERVICES

AMMAN, Jan 26 (NNN-PETRA) - Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh has reiterated the Kingdom's rejection of any reduction in services provided by UNRWA to a large number of Palestinian refugees in the Kingdom.
The minister, who spoke during a meeting Monday with the newly-appointed UNRWA Commissioner-General Filippo Grandi, added that any curtailment to the UNRWA allocations for its operations in the Kingdom and other host countries would bring about further financial burden on these countries.
Judeh stressed the key role of the international agency in serving Palestinian refugees until their case is resolved in line with related international resolutions.
UN chief Ban Ki-moon last week appointed Filippo Grandi of Italy to lead the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), succeeding Karen AbuZayd of the United States whose tour of duty came to an end last month.
